Cold!

I hate winter.... I guess I've said it before (or not). It's just not my season. The short days, lack of sunlight, putting on three layers of clothes - really, I find it hard to figure out what to wear when I have to put on one layer, imagine the time it takes to figure out three - and the thing I hate most about winters is de-icing your car. Scraping of those terrible icelayers on your windows just doesn't kick off your day in the right way. It doesn't help that my frontwindow has 4 (!) little bursts, so I have to do it carefully. My car is almost 16 years old, I guess it will not pass the annual check-up in August, so it's not worth to replace the window. Now, where is this story going...? I can't get track of it.
Oh wait, I figured it out: the only thing I like about winter is curling up on the couch with some tea, a little blanket and my pj's on. But since I have been doing that for the last two weeks I am sick of that toooooooooooo! Bring me spring! Please please please! I want longer days, shorter nights, sipping coffee in my own backyard, with the sun on my cheeks!

I think it's time for a long bath with a large glass of white wine (or rosé)...
Take care you all.

Busy Week!!

So, this week is packed with all sorts of fun! Yesterday my very very very best friend Irma dropped by (we had to wish each other happy new year....) We mail every day, but we both didn't find the time to meet. So we had a lot of catching up to do. Fun!
Today my mom and dad joined us for diner, we played a game of cards. Also fun!
Tomorrow we are going to my sister-in-law to admire their new familymember! They got a dog... No doubt that that will be fun too!
Saturday hubby is going to a soccergame and I will go to a concert. Sunday I will sleep....
I've ordered 8 (!) books at Amazon. I received the first one yesterday: S.E.W. I flipped it through and I love it allready! There are nice, understandable projects.... I might actually have a go at.
The other books I ordered are:
1. The Apron Book: Making, Wearing, and Sharing a Bit of Cloth and Comfort
2. Stitch 'N Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook
3. Sew U: The Built by Wendy Guide to Making Your Own Wardrobe
4. Sew What! Skirts: 16 Simple Styles You Can Make with Fabulous Fabrics
5. The Art of Bead Embroidery: Techniques, Designs & Inspirations
6. Masters: Beadweaving: Major Works by Leading Artists (Masters (Lark Books)
7. Mastering Beadwork: A Comprehensive Guide to Off-loom Techniques

This covers all my interests, I love amazon, because of all the handy feedback. It took me reading and 'investigating' for 2 weeks, but I hope it works out...
I hope I will have some time to create soon....

Weekend is over

Weekend went by so fast... Yesterday we went to my sister in law, to celebrate her birthday. We had some wine (a lot), had a few laughs (a lot) and had a great time. I love that our families get together so well.
I finished the necklace right before we left home, so I forgot to make a picture... But I loved it so much that I'm thinking about making one for myself as well.... Felt good to bead again.
Well, I've got nothing more to tell. This will be a busy week, so I am off to bed now!

Yay! My very very very first self sewn bag!!

I've knitted this scarf earlier this week. I only had 1 skein, so it's a very short, very narrow scarf... But it was nice to start and finish something. I've added the white fringe to make it look like it's a bit longer. I think I will wear this. Not often though....

And now my new little treasure! I was as happy as a 6 year old at her birthday when I finished it! I think it looks pretty well for a first-timer and I will definetely use this one!!!

I used a closing from a old, very ugly bag, I sewed the fabric to the frame. It's lined with brown satin and I adore it.....
I am working on a necklace for my sister in law now....

All better...?

Yesterday, I went back to work. Everything went well untill 10:30. My head started buzzing again and it didn't stop. I've tried everything, nothing worked. Went home at 4, called My Mommy, she rushed over with some soup (don't you just love that you can always count on your mother? I know I do, like I am a 4year old all over again) and forced me to call the doctor today. So I did this morning and since then this is the first day in 2 weeks that I don't have a headache, go figure.
In between the headaches.... I finished my very first bag! I wanted to post a pic, but the batteries of my camera ran low, and I can't seem to find the charger. So I will ask my husband, and when I can snap pictures again, I will post them here!
Tomorrow is my sister-in-law's birthday, I realised today. Usually I give her a necklace, but since I haven't been beading recently, I don't know what to give her. Maybe I will give her a self-sewn-purse!!!! LOL
Anyways, wish you all a lovely weekend!

Hmmmmz

Still at home, still feeling not so great. Started knitting today, since tv is too bright and boring and it seems like I have read everything on the internet. I love that my laptop is easy in making less bright. Instead of the regular 8 stripes of brightness I have it on 2. That's bearable. I hate this! Stupid headache, stupid winterblues! I am running out of yarn too....

Last night, I dreamt of having my own crafting business. I fell asleep at 2:30 whilst going in at 10. In the hours I spent staring at the ceiling I made up a gazillion ideas for this craftbusiness, but with my chaotic approach I will probably end up with none of them fulfilled.
Hubbie is at work, he has a late shift today, so he will be home late. It also means I have to go to bed alone. But that also does mean I can sketch my ideas without waking him up.
Well, tomorrow I will brighten my day, I will work on losing this gloomy feeling. All we be well.

Headache - Hoofdpijn

Dus, here goes:

This morning, I woke up with a terrible headache, again. So I called in sick, spent the morning in bed and the rest of the day on the couch, with a little blanket and lots of tea. Tried to read some magazines and looked a little on the internet. Still feeling miserable though. Even the big hug my husband gave me didn't help. I hate it when I feel like this. It makes me feel wobbly and sad. And really, who wants to feel like that? Well, tomorrow will be a new day, and who knows what that will bring....
Next weekend, I will start working on my first tutorials. I am planning on making basic-tutorials such as Peyote, RAW and brick stitch, and perhaps later on I will make some for beaded beads and such. I am curious what you want to learn about beading!

This weekend, I've been looking for a serger on the internet. I would love to have one, but my husband reaaaaaaally thinks I don't need one right now. He is far too scared that I will leave my beads and turn into a sewist... Which will probably result in more stuff in the attic. And he also thinks I haven't sewn enough to make such a purchase... Maybe he's right. So I'll just have to start sewing and earn me a serger!

lazy saturday morning...

Het is -6 buiten!!!! -6!

Engels of Nederlands?
